Direct Mail Frequently Asked Questions

Q – How much does it cost?

A – The cost of a project depends on several things. The overall size of a mail piece (postcard or catalog?), the quantity of pieces, special papers used (coating and/or thickness), and demographics of the list and other variables will affect the overall price. The best way to obtain and accurate quote is to call our customer service to talk about the specific needs for the job.

Q – How fast can you design and mail my postcard?

A – If using a template, the turnaround time is as little as 2-3 days. If a custom design is needed, it usually takes 1-2 weeks of development going back and forth with the designer and customer with changes before perfection is reached. From that point, print and mail is approximately 3-7 business days (again, depending upon overall quantity). Most direct mail jobs are drop-shipped and arrive in-home in a matter of days.

Q- What is drop shipping?

A – Drop shipping is where the mail is prepared and instead of getting dropped off at the local post office closest to our facility, we ship it to the closed mail facility where the recipients are. For example, if a batch of postcards are addressed to Tampa, Florida, they are prepared at our location and freighted together in one box to the mail facility in Tampa, Florida where postal workers open and distribute. The process of drop shipping significantly speeds up the delivery time of standard class mail (previously known as ‘bulk mail.”) Depending on where a batch is going, mail pieces arrive in-home in 1-7 business days.
